This recognition is a huge honor for us at Blackbird Brewery, and we couldn’t be more proud of the hard work and dedication that went into creating this exceptional brew.

Our Chimcoe West Coast IPA is a true labor of love, crafted with a perfect blend of Citra and Simcoe hops. This combination creates a vibrant, fruit-forward medley on the palate with an effervescent, dry finish. The Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine panel picked out “notes of grapefruit, peach, white grape, papaya and mango with supporting evergreen and dank tones and a firmly bitter, dry finish.”

What It Means to Us
Achieving a 95 for an IPA when you’re 3,000 miles away from the hop farms is a pretty big deal. We are elated to be listed among top breweries across California well-known for setting the standard for West Coast IPAs. Our co-owners Harmony and Ian are ecstatic about this achievement! Ian summed it up best, saying, “It’s surreal to see our name amongst the breweries who have the authority to decide what the modern IPA style is, and where it will go.”
