Beer Updates

With summer now in full swing, Blackbird Brewery presents a robust lineup of new beer. Read on to see all that we’re brewing!

New Releases
  • Me Fail English? That’s Unpossible! – Brown Ale is a rich English brown ale boasting a deep cocoa aroma and a satisfyingly dark hue. Crafted in a small batch, this brew is a nod to simplicity, allowing the natural flavors to shine without embellishment. Perfect for those craving a darker beer without the weight of an Imperial stout, it promises a smooth and approachable experience that satisfies the desire for a classic brown ale.
  • Li’l Sebastian – Helles Lager draws inspiration from our Johann Sebastian Spring Bock, presenting a Munich-style house beer with a malt-forward profile. Unlike our hoppier offerings, this pale yellow lager stands out with its emphasis on malt sweetness and flavor. With its no-frills approach and subtle rustic character, it delivers a refreshing and satisfying experience for lager enthusiasts seeking a departure from hop-forward brews.
  • Marmalade Skies Hazy IPA blends our usual British yeast with a famous Vermont strain for a drier, summery vibe. Our hazies over the past year have been full-bodied, thicker IPAs. With humid NC weather rolling in like a wet towel after a hot shower, we aimed for a more refreshing profile. Citra and Riwaka hops mingle on a pillowy light body, offering the citrus you love, and the New Zealand funk you need. 8.0% ABV.
  • Pink Phantom Raspberry Gose is the latest addition to our staff beer series where each team member chooses a beer style and spends a day brewing it in the beerhouse. This one is Mindi’s creation inspired by none other than “Summertime!” She brewed a German-style sour with sea salt called a Gose (pronounced goe-zuh), and as fermentation was finishing, she added a generous amount of raspberry puree. The result is a light pink beer with a lovely framboise aroma. 6.6% ABV.
Next Week

“Dayman IPA” introduces a groundbreaking twist to the West Coast style, harnessing the innovative “Daybreak” yeast strain. Derived from the classic hazy IPA strain, this yeast undergoes a revolutionary process that retains its fruity essence while eliminating haze formation. The result? A clear, crisp IPA with a soft and fruit-forward profile reminiscent of hazies, yet distinctively dry and transparent. Expect a refreshing brew that marries the best of both worlds, offering a unique take on IPA enjoyment.

Late June
  • Rice Lager made with CA sushi-grade rice and the cereal masher
  • Talus Hazy made with Neomexicanus Hops (HBC 586)
  • Pale Ale made with revolutionary Daybreak yeast strain but with different hops and a lower ABV
  • All Simcoe Hazy
  • Vienna Lager – We’re so excited about this one that we’re dedicating an entire blog post to it later this month. Stay tuned!
