Oktoberfest at Blackbird Brewery: Beer, Brats, and Bavarian Fun!

Oktoberfest 2024It’s that time of year again—Oktoberfest is just around the corner! This Saturday, September 28th, we invite you to join us for a day filled with hearty German beers, delicious food, and exciting activities for all ages. Whether you’re a long-time fan of the festival or experiencing it for the first time, we’ve got plenty in store to make this Oktoberfest one to remember.

Oktoberfest Origins

Oktoberfest dates back to 1810, when the citizens of Munich gathered to celebrate the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. The festivities began with a horse race and, over the years, evolved into a grand annual festival featuring beer, music, and German culinary delights. Today, it’s celebrated all over the world, paying tribute to Bavaria’s rich beer-making tradition and the joy of coming together as a community.

Five German-Style Beers – Prost to a Stellar Lineup

At Blackbird Brewery, we’re pulling out all the stops with a selection of five German-style beers that capture the spirit of Oktoberfest.

Here’s what’s on tap:

Weizenbock: A bold, malty wheat beer perfect for cooler weather. With flavors of banana, clove, and dark fruits, this deep amber brew brings a warming, full-bodied experience. ABV: 6.8%.
Grodziskie: This light, 4% ABV beer has a unique oak-smoked flavor, balanced by a crisp finish. It’s refreshing yet complex, offering a different twist on your typical Oktoberfest beer.
Festbier: The star of the show, this smooth 5.8% ABV brew combines malty richness with classic fall flavors. Brewed specially for this event, it’s the perfect beer to toast the season.
Kolsch: Crisp and light with subtle stone fruit aromas, this 4.5% ABV German ale is a refreshing option that’s easy to sip all day long.
Perry’s Epiphany Hefeweizen: Brewed with wheat from a local farm, this 4.8% ABV unfiltered wheat beer offers a smooth finish with classic hefeweizen flavors. A local favorite you won’t want to miss.
