Blacktoberfest!

As proud supporters of our friends at Proximity Brewing Company and Glori Cocktail Bar in Durham, we were thrilled to produce a collab for their widely acclaimed event, Blacktoberfest, held this Saturday, October 14th at Garland Hall in Durham. Both companies are newly opened, independent black owned businesses in Durham who share our passion for the beverage industry and elevating quality and culture. Read on to learn about the Hazy DIPA we made with these friends for Blacktoberfest and how you can join in on the fun.

Glori Sunset Pineapple Hazy DIPA

Working with our friends from Proximity Brewing and Glori Cocktail bar in Durham, we crafted this Double IPA with pineapple puree and Citra cryo hops for this weekend’s Blacktoberfest event. A showcase of balance, large portions of malt, oats, and hops combined with fruit puree meld seamlessly in a creamy and tropical delivery that’s dangerously smooth and easy to drink. 8.5% ABV You’ll find this beer at the Blacktoberfest event this weekend and in our taproom by the end of the week.

Making an Impact

Both Black Brew Culture and Blacktoberfest are proud partners of Shining Light in Darkness, a trusted provider of support, skills, and resources for underserved victims/survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. A portion of the proceeds from the Blacktoberfest event will be donated to Shining Light in Darkness to assist them in continuing their amazing work in the Triangle Region of North Carolina. The Event Details

Blacktoberfest’s Saturday events include over 40 food and retail vendors, live bands, DJs, and, of course, beer, spirit and cider tastings. Although the main event is Saturday from 1-8PM, there are plenty of other fun ways to enjoy Blacktoberfest. Sign up for the 3-day pass and enjoy an exclusive BBQ dinner, bottle share and access to the pitmaster’s tents on Friday, and on Sunday, attend a brewer’s brunch from 11AM-3PM.

Support Black-Owned Businesses

Can’t go to Blacktoberfest? You can still support our local black-owned business owners/friends by checking out their new businesses, drinking their drinks and following them on socials! Ian and Harmony had the pleasure of visiting John and Joi at Glori Cocktail Bar recently and were very impressed with the level of detail and balance they bring to their cocktails. Harmony said, “They put the same love into the drinkability and presentation that we do!” Although Mike hasn’t opened the doors of Proximity Brewing Company yet, we have no doubt he will be bringing more excellent, drinkable beers to the Triangle and we will be one of the first ones there when they open!
