Save the Date: Oktoberfest September 28th!

Mindi with Festbier steinsMark your calendars, beer lovers—Oktoberfest at Blackbird Brewery is just around the corner! We’re gearing up for a day full of great brews, festive vibes, and the kind of fun that only Oktoberfest can bring. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a lineup of exceptional German-style beers that’ll make you feel like you’re right in the heart of Munich. We’ve been hard at work crafting some incredible beers for this special occasion. Here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect:

New Releases for Oktoberfest Week:

  • Grodziskie: Making its debut, this historical Polish beer style is brewed with 100% oak-smoked wheat malt from Germany. Despite its intense smoky aroma, it drinks like a light, refreshing beer with a clean finish, perfect for the fall festivities.
  • Weizenbock: A bold, full-bodied wheat beer with a strong malt presence, coming out just in time for Oktoberfest.
  • Festbier: Our latest iteration of this classic beer has a slightly lighter color and a heartier flavor, thanks to a new blend of malts, including a touch of Canadian malt for added depth.

Returning Favorites:

  • Kolsch: Crisp and refreshing, this beer will be available at the beginning of September, with plenty set aside for the big day.
  • Perry’s Epiphany Hefeweizen: A classic German-style wheat beer made with 50% locally grown wheat from Perry Family Farm and malted at Epiphany Craft Malt.
  • Tuxedo at a Pool Party German Pilsner: This fan-favorite is back at the end of August, with enough saved up to keep the party going during Oktoberfest.

Festbier: A Taste of Tradition with a Twist

FestbierThis year’s Festbier builds on the success of last year’s version, with a few tweaks that make it even more special. We’ve switched up the malt base, opting for a blend of German and Canadian Pilsner malts, along with Vienna and Munich malts from last year’s recipe. The addition of a small amount of Canadian malt adds a touch more depth, while the overall color has shifted to a pure golden hue, leaning less into the copper tones of last year. Expect the same classic fall lager vibes you know and love, with just a hint of something new.

Don’t Miss Out!

With this exciting lineup of beers, our Oktoberfest celebration is sure to be one for the books. We can’t wait to raise a glass with you on Saturday, September 28th—prost!
