Medals and Mentions: Celebrating Our Recent Accolades

Raise your glass, Blackbird family – we’ve got some incredible news to share! Two of our beloved beers were recently featured in Craft Beer & Brewing, and four of our brews brought home some serious hardware from the Untappd Awards. We’re absolutely buzzing, and it wouldn’t be possible without the love and support of our amazing community. Let’s take a closer look at the highlights!

We’re excited to announce that Night of the Living Peanut Butter Porter and You’re Toast, Mate! Pub Ale have been highlighted in the Spring 2025 edition of Craft Beer & Brewing, The Expanding Maltiverse.

The positive feedback has been overwhelming, and we couldn’t be more proud.

• Night of the Living Peanut Butter Porter –  With its rich peanut butter flavor and smooth roasted malt backbone, this full-bodied porter earned 94 points! Its perfect balance of bold and smooth flavors made it a standout, winning high praise for its complexity and drinkability.
• You’re Toast, Mate! Pub Ale –  This traditional English-style ale earned 88 points for its malty richness and toasty character, making it a standout for those who enjoy a smooth, flavorful pint. Its well-balanced profile and satisfying finish have made it a favorite among beer enthusiasts.

  

  

  

Untappd Awards: A Toast to Our Winners!

The Untappd community has spoken, and we’re excited to share that four of our beers have been recognized with prestigious awards this year. It’s an honor to see our passion for brewing celebrated by the people who matter most – you! Here are our award-winning beers:

• Fanum Tax – Gold Medal (3.97 score) in the Porter – English category. A rich, full-bodied porter with deep malt flavors and a roasted finish, perfectly balanced between sweetness and roast.
• Johann Sebastian Bock – Silver Medal (4.0 score) in the Bock – Hell / Maibock / Lentebock category. A smooth, malty bock with a subtle sweetness and a clean, refreshing finish, ideal for any occasion.
• Kanpai – Silver Medal (3.97 score) in the Lager – Japanese Rice category. A crisp, refreshing lager with delicate malt sweetness and a smooth, clean finish. Originally known as Kanpai, this beer was recently reimagined and relaunched as Habu Rice Lager. Discover the full story behind its re-release in our recent blog.
