Fall in North Carolina is made for crisp air, golden fields, and afternoons that stretch into evenings with good company and a cold beer in hand. We love nothing more than welcoming you into our local taproom in Wake Forest, NC, but this season, we’re packing up the spirit of Blackbird and heading back to one of our favorite fall spots—Phillips Farms of Cary.
Whether it’s a corn maze paired with craft beer, a post-hayride pint, or a 4- or 6- pack to go, this is where the best parts of the season come together in one place. We’ll be pouring all season in the Blackbird Brewery Beer Shed, so whether you’re here for sunflowers, pumpkins, or a tractor ride, we’ll have a beer ready for you.
Fall Activities at Phillips Farms
Phillips Farms has a way of turning fall into an experience. It’s not just a pumpkin patch or a corn maze—it’s the place where families, friends, and neighbors come together year after year to make new memories. This season, you’ll find plenty to explore, including:
A seven-acre corn maze filled with twists, turns, and challenges- Expansive sunflower fields perfect for fall photos
- Pumpkin picking and paint-your-own pumpkin stations
- Tractor rides, animal encounters, and farmyard activities
- Haunted Farm Adventures after dark, running September 19 through November 8

Blackbird Brewery Beer Shed Schedule
From September 13 through November 8, you’ll find us Thursdays 4-8 PM, Fridays 3-6 PM, Saturdays 10 AM – 6 PM and Sundays 1 PM – 6 PM at the Beer Shed, tucked just behind the fun park entrance. We’ll have ice-cold drafts ready to pour, along with 4- and 6-packs to-go. Think of it as the same community spirit we pour every day at our local taproom in Wake Forest, NC, but in the middle of the season’s best backdrop.
Season Kickoff: Bearly A Concert Family Fun Day
The farm season officially starts this Saturday, September 13, with the Second Annual Bearly A Concert Family Fun Day. From 10 AM to 6 PM, Phillips Farms will be buzzing with live music, foam parties, interactive drumming, food trucks, animal encounters, and Cary’s largest water fight. Tickets are $25, and proceeds benefit mental health initiatives across the Triangle—making it one of those events that’s fun for a cause.

Every weekend brings something new at Phillips Farms, and we’ll be pouring for all of it:
- September 13–14: Grand Opening Weekend
- September 20–21: Grandparents Weekend (grandparents receive free admission with a general ticket purchase)
- September 27–28: Tractor Days
- October 4–5: Sunflowers Weekend
- October 11–12: All Apple Everything, including apple pie eating contests for kids and adults
- October 13: Columbus Day festivities
- October 18–19: Pumpkinfest with paint-your-own pumpkin activities
- October 25–26: Touch-A-Truck with appearances from local fire and police departments
- November 1–2: Harvest Fest featuring live entertainment, character appearances, balloon artists, face painters, and a Glow in the Park evening event
- November 8: Fall Farewell Weekend with a preview of the Phillips Farms Christmas tree lights
