Thanksgiving Wine Tasting with Elephants Corner Wines

November 26, 2025 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Elephants Corner Wines

Join us for an afternoon celebrating the flavors of South Africa with Elephants Corner Wines, hosted by Jim Soffe. South African wine is considered “New World” with an “Old World” heart—winemaking here dates back to 1659, giving many wines an Old World style, yet modern wineries bring exciting surprises to every bottle.

This tasting showcases a carefully curated selection of wines perfect for Thanksgiving, giving you the chance to explore new favorites, learn about the craft behind each bottle, and enjoy the warm, inviting atmosphere of the taproom. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or looking to expand your palate, this relaxed evening is the perfect way to experience South Africa in a glass.

Featured Wines:

  • Bruyere Family Wines, “Legkaart” Riesling Elgin, 2022 – $25
Fermented and matured for 10 months in mainly older oak barrels with some stainless steel to retain freshness. Aromas of lime, grapefruit, green apple, spice, floral, yellow stone fruit, hints of kerosene, and struck flint. Dry, complex palate with citrus and layered minerality.
  • Pasarene, “Bright” Chardonnay Western Cape, 2022 – $25
Delicate balance of ripe stone fruit, citrus zest, and minerality. 10% aged in new oak for structure, 90% in neutral oak to preserve purity of fruit. Grown in deep sandy soils of the Western Cape.
  • Lost Boy, Cinsault Coastal Region, 2024 – $28
Vibrant, aromatic red crafted using Beaujolais techniques. Cherry and bubblegum aromas with a full yet soft body, silky tannins, and plenty of structure. Aged 9 months in 2nd-fill, medium-toast French oak. Only 1,200 bottles produced.
  • Pasarene, “Midnight” Cabernet Sauvignon Tulbagh, 2022 – $30
Bold, complex Cabernet with deep black fruit, rich spice, and smoky undertones. Fermented and aged 16 months in seasoned, steamed oak barrels for refined tannins and subtle oak integration. Bottled with minimal intervention to preserve natural expression.

Come taste the unique expressions of South Africa and find your next favorite wine!
